Steak 'n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes. For over 85 years, the company's name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word "steak" stood for steakburger. The term "shake" stood for hand-dipped milkshakes. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business. Today, Steak 'n Shake remains the "better burger" leader, serving premium 100% beef steakburgers, hand-dipped milkshakes, thin crispy fries, and more. Steakburgers are made without preservatives or artificial ingredients, topped with fresh produce, and always hand-crafted to order. Other classics include the Frisco Melt, 7x7, Prime Steakburgers, and fan favorite M&M milkshakes.

Our server was great. The food is always good and still has the same classic taste as all the other places. The fries were hot and fresh when they hit the table. I tried the new red velvet oreo milkshake and it did not disappoint.

Finally found one open! Restaurant was clean. There was only one server for the whole diningroom. She was racing to do it all. But succeeded rather well, considering. Food was timely, hot and good.

This steak n shake has gone up and down in its service but I have to say this was the best service we have received so far! Our waitress Sam was absolutely amazing with my daughter and I. The food was also the best I've had! Whatever they have done, they had really turned it around! Im so happy that it's looking up as steak n shake is a favorite of my family.

I’m just a Grubhub driver but walking in I was greeted, asked what the order name was and the guy confirmed the order with me before I sat down and before I left with the order, which only took a few minutes! The place looked brand new, was very well kept, especially the kitchen, and the staff was attentive and friendly to the customers they were helping, also hustled everywhere they went. Food looked and smelled amazing too, was very difficult to not eat it on the way to the customer haha! Keep it up guys!

Got a great meal today. Hot and prepared right, like steak n Shake used to do. So good. The waiter was excellent and was working so hard. The place was under staffed like normal, which made this waiter, and another waitress gave to literally run through the dining room and back and forth to the counter to take people's money as they left etc. As normal, the problem at steak n shake is management, not most of the hard working employees. Today was a great old fashioned steak n Shake experience, in the dining room, with a clean table, great waiter, and good food.

First and foremost steak and shake is not what I remember as a kid (and I’m not that old). With that being said, I’d would highly recommend them as hangover food at best anymore. If you want a burger that will literally dribble grease down your arm, then this is the place to go. I can’t say I’ve ever gotten hot fries from ANY steak and shake in the past 5 years, but again, if you are recovering from a wild night, you really don’t care. Service is decent, food quality has suffered and it honestly makes me sad to see what was once a great chain, become a dirty, mediocre, fast food joint. If you want a good burger, go to Culver’s.

Super happy there is one very close to me still open. Garlic burger all time fave!! Wish they would bring back the mocha shake, but it's still amazing. The crew here is really nice and they are pretty fast, well as fast as the burgers will cook. Lol.

Why are the floors always sticky? There's never enough servers. The bathrooms are always gross. The only reason we go here is because it's the only place out grandkids like and this store is still way cleaner than the Wentzville location.

This review is based on my experience with Shane M. He was my server today. I've never seen a steak 'n shake employee or any other "fast" food employee for that matter work as well, and fast as he does. His work ethic speaks for what he is capable of doing. My personal opinion is he should be running this location, if I was a business owner of any sorts I would have offered him a position with a pay increase to leave steak 'n shake.

Not as good as it used to be. My wife and I get Steak N Shake about once or twice a week. We took a break for a while as they went through their restructuring changing hours and closing various restaurants. Mainly due to their hour change since we always got our food after 0200 and they were closing early. We went by for lunch this day and the burgers didn't have the same taste as they always had. Lile maybe their using a cheaper meat, I don't know but I do know it wasn't as good as it used to be. Guys go back to what you once had or your going to continue to lose customers and I really don't want to see that.
